Year 9 & 10 Coordinator’s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

This is my second year as a coordinator at Sirius College and it has been an impressive start by the year 9 & 10 students so far. As coordinators, we are constantly looking at ways for students to build resilience, initiative and respect. We have some exciting new initiatives and events this year that I am looking forward to. By the end of this term the school and class captains for the whole school will have completed a leadership program, the year 9s with the 7s and 8s will have attended the Man Cave programs (A wellbeing program that focuses on issues such as respect) and all students will have had their photos taken.

Later this term selected students from year 10 will be attending an excursion to the Formula One (Grand Prix) races that will be held on the 12th of March. However, it does not stop there. Next term our year 9 students will be attending a camp during week 8.

We need to acknowledge that there will be challenges along the way. We know that with the Coronavirus extra vigilance will be required. The message that health authorities are communicating loud and clear is that hygiene is critical. Washing hands after eating and going to the toilet will reduce the spread of the decease however that alone will not be enough. We will all need to work together and find a way to overcome the challenges that we will most likely be facing this year.

Despite these challenges, I am very excited for this year and I am looking forward to communicating and seeing as many years 9 and 10 parents as I can this year.

Year 11 & 12 Coordinator’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am so pleased to have been given this opportunity of returning to the Meadow Fair Campus, and continuing my role as Year Level Coordinator. I completed two very happy years at the Ibrahim Dellal Campus, but I am certainly glad to be back.

Most of you will recall that I had been your son’s Year Level Coordinator when he was in Years 7 and 8, and I must say that it is rewarding to be able to have come full circle – with my having been there at the start of your son’s secondary school journey, and finding myself here again for his final years of school.

To those of you who may not know me, I extend my warmest greetings, and I look forward to making your acquaintance very soon.

I believe that a student achieves his best when his parents maintain a strong and continuous stream of communication with every one of his teachers, so please remain regularly in touch, and if you need assistance with accessing SEQTA, then please contact our office as soon as possible.

I look forward to a rewarding year for each and every one of us, especially for your son.

All my best wishes,

Mr Adrian Verga
